The March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction

On September 24th at the Marietta Country Club top chefs will offer Cobb County community members an opportunity to enjoy a great night out while raising funds, making friends and growing visibility for the critical work of the March of Dimes. In addition to sampling signature dishes, guests will enjoy music and a tempting auction of many unique items graciously donated by Cobb businesses.

“What better way to enjoy a wonderful meal than in the company of others who are helping to give every baby a healthy start in life,” said Debra Johnson, the 2009 event chair. “I’m honored to volunteer for the March of Dimes and to support their vision of a day when every baby is born healthy. Our babies deserve the best outcomes, and we are so grateful for the many business leaders, community members and restaurants that have stepped up to make this event a success.”

Generous donations of sponsorships and must-have auction items have been given by: WellStar, Scana Energy, Marietta Neonatology, Tatum, Steel, as well as Thomas Arvid and Steve Penley.

Individual tickets are $150 and a table of ten is $1500. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Visit www.marchofdimes.com/Georgia to purchase tickets or call 404-350-9800 x212 for more information

Funds raised by Signature Chefs Auctions support lifesaving research and educational programs aimed at giving every baby a healthy start including community grants focusing on prenatal wellness, NICU (newborn intensive care unit) Family Support programs and advocacy efforts.

The most urgent infant health problem in the U.S. today is premature birth. It affects more than half a million babies each year, with the number growing every day. In 2008 the March of Dimes issued a Report Card on Premature Birth, giving the nation a D and Georgia a F. Babies born too soon are more likely to die or have disabilities.

The March of Dimes is committed to reducing this toll by funding research to find the answers to premature birth and providing comfort and information to families who are affected.

The March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health. With chapters nationwide and its premier event, March for Babies®, the March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
